28.11.2007

Societies take many things that are around them for granted and use them without any thought or consideration for its intended purpose to suit their very own.

However, this may not neccessary be a bad thing, its adaptations. This unconscious behavior of an individual interacting with her surroundings, interest us.

We took the Stairs as a case study to establish this point. The case pictures show how one uses it as a waiting area, an area for storage, for plants, for get together etc. Aform that suggest steps of flight but functional without one realizing it.

This Stair case study prompted us to design an archetype of Stairs as furniture without an "indentity", hence allowing user, without any premonition of the functions, uses this stairs according to their own space and lifetyle.

Useless becomes useful again.
